I76

Today, while I’m not feeling well and exhausted, I said yes to driving an hour and a half for a 7th grade basketball game. Of course I would have said yes no matter what and of course I am thrilled to have gone to watch my girl and her DadCoach, but I’m glad to be home now. The unfortunate thing that has come with a body wrecked by cancer: the long drive along I-76 beat up my body so much…that road is awful…and I felt every.single.imperfection in the road. Pre-cancer, the road would have maybe been annoying. Here in survivorship, though, the literal road caused my body to metaphorically scream. As I sit here, no longer on a bumpy road, I feel like I’ve been through the ringer….beat up, bruised, pained. And I was supposed to go to Caty’s volleyball practice, too, and I just can’t do it.

Stupid cancer.

Today I…
